Churchill, Manitoba is known as the "Polar Bear Capital of the World." This annual movement of polar bears along the western shore of Hudson Bay is one of the great wildlife viewing spectacles on earth. In October and early November, polar bears congregate at nearby Cape Churchill in large numbers waiting for the ice to form on Hudson Bay. Once the ice is stable enough, they disperse to spend the winter hunting seals. I will be returning to Churchill again this fall to view these incredible animals!
